The third popular sport of London is tennis. Amazingly, like football and test cricket, one of two possible roots of tennis can be traced back to England (the other is French in origin). However, tennis historians all agree that the modern form of tennis is very much English. And the sport's premier arena, Wimbledon, is as English as it can get.
Center court or court 1 seats at Wimbledon can be extremely difficult to come by. Willing fans may have to make reservations six months before a match. Seats are also allocated by ballot, so queues on match-day can be long. The more die-hard fans camp out overnight before a match just to get good seats. Pre-Wimbledon tournaments are played at the Queen's Club.
