Madame Tussaud's

This is the world-famous wax museum of London that was set up by Marie Tussaud , the famed wax sculptor who served as official sculptor to Louis XVI. During her time, Marie Tussaud used to travel around Europe, bringing along her wax sculptures and setting up exhibits. The museum was established in 1835, Tussaud's first permanent exhibition. Her first waxwork, a sculpture of Marie Jean du Barry, mistress of Louis XV, is the oldest work currently on display.

Madame Tussaud's today features an interesting collection of waxwork sculptures of prominent figures, such as the Dalai Lama, Ozzy Osbourne, Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Beckham, and Princess Diana. There is even a section aptly called the Chamber of Horrors which showcases gory works, such as images of prominent victims of the French Revolution and figures of murderers and other criminals, one being Jack the Ripper.

The London Planetarium right next door is now a must-see for visitors to Madame Tussaud's.
