The London Planetarium was built in the 1950s. In the first 50 years of its operation, it relied on an opto-mechanical star projector to create a scale replica of the night sky. The system was upgraded to a Digistar system in the 1990s, which made possible 3D star projections and simulated journeys through space. In 2004, the projection system was upgraded to a full-color Digistar 3 that allowed realtime and pre-rendered shows that are much more realistic than ever. Very recently, the London Planetarium was renamed the Auditorium.
Right beside Madame Tussaud's in London , London Planetarium is now the perfect complement to the Madame Tussaud's experience. Both children and adults alike would surely delight in the spectacular virtual reality trips through time and space. Package tickets are available for visits to Madame Tussaud's and the Planetarium.
