London is the capital city of the United Kingdom and of England. It is the largest European city and one of the four so-called global cities of the world, the other three being New York City, Tokyo, and Paris. It is also the most populous city in the European Union. As a global city, it is one of the world's major centers of business, politics, and cultural centers.
